Is a major snowstorm for Connecticut on the horizon for next week? As 2021 winds down, meteorologist Brad Field sees the persistently and unseasonable, mild weather pattern in the state and northeast, continuing into the new year. In fact, rain is forecast for New Year’s Day.

In his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field sees signs of the weather pattern breaking down. What could that mean for the region? Field says one model predicts a major snowstorm could hit Connecticut on Jan. 7. The storm would be followed by some bitterly cold weather.
