Records fall in July

Hot July, cool August. Stormy winter?

Records tumbled in July, as meteorologist Brad Field discovered, when he opened his electric bill. In his latest podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field reviews how hot July was. As August begins, however, we could be in for a cooler stretch, making for a comfortable run of weather for summer’s “dog days.”

There are weather systems brewing in the tropics and Pacific and Field has fun previewing what that could mean for winter in New England? It is still a long way off, but Field explains why snow shovels could be in order for 2020.
