Snowstorm on the way for Connecticut, followed by an arctic plunge in temperatures.

Snowstorm, bitter cold in Connecticut forecast | Ep. 151

If you have been waiting for winter weather to arrive in Connecticut, wait no longer. Meteorologist Brad Field is forecasting a snowstorm for the region, beginning early Friday morning, Jan. 7. The quick-hitting storm could dump several inches of snow on the state, before moving out early Friday afternoon, Field says in his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo.

Once the storm moves out, temperatures will not warm up much, before a mixed bag of precipitation hits the area on Sunday. That will set the stage for the coldest weather of the season, early the week of Jan. 9, when an Arctic air mass plunges into the state. By Tuesday, windchills could drop to 20 degrees below zero, according to Field. And if that isn’t enough to whet your palette, another winter storm could hit the area on Friday, Jan. 14.

Field outlines it all Episode 151 of the Brad Field Weather podcast.
