Nagging storms impact Connecticut

A series of low pressure systems will impact Connecticut from Feb. 18-20, bringing with it mixed precipitation, according to meteorologist Brad Field. In his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field explains why these waves of low pressure are occurring and how much snow we can expect.

In the podcast, Field gives an hour-by-hour rundown of the storms, and also looks long range into March has to how our weather will be effected.

Connecticut: 4 storms in 7 days

Connecticut is in line to get four snowstorms in seven days, according to meteorologist Brad Field. In his weekly podcast, Field stated, “I have not seen a setup like this in years, referring to the weather map.”

A storm will impact Connecticut on Feb. 7, beginning what will be an active week of weather. In his conversation with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field also detailed the number of storms expected to affect the region between Feb. 7-14. What the weather is like after Feb. 14 is also discussed at some length.

Storms on horizon for Connecticut?

Storms are on the horizon for Connecticut and the region, according to meteorologist Brad Field. In his weekly podcast, Field explains which dates should be monitored and why the weekend of Jan. 30-31 could be a significant one.

When asked about the Polar Vortex by co-host Dan Lovallo, Field explains that people will notice a decided dip in the temperature. As to a Polar Vortex, Field discusses what is up with that weather event and why mild-than-normal temperatures in Alaska impact Connecticut and the northeast.

More storms, Arctic cold

It looks as if our week of February 10 will be predominated by continued nuisance storms followed by a short blast of Arctic cold. So says meteorologist Brad Field. In his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field outlines the timetable for the storms.

The storm late Wednesday into Thursday could be an interesting one and when it is finished here comes that Arctic cold blast. It could get downright cold in the Connecticut region as Field details.

Meanwhile, Field explains why the date of February 22 could bring about some dramatic changes in Connecticut’s weather. By the way, Field also details the snow amounts for the region and how it compares to previous winters.

Nuisance storms highlight Connecticut weather

A stretch of nuisance storms will highlight Connecticut weather from early Thursday morning through Sunday, according to meteorologist Brad Field. In his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, Field said from Feb. 6 through Feb. 9 storms will run along a stalled front south of Connecticut bringing a combination of precipitation to the region.

In the podcast, Field explains why the front is stalling and what is leading to the series of storms riding along it. Just back from the Super Bowl, Field also talks about his trip to America’s premier sporting event.
