Could March enter like a lion?

February 26, 2020 By Brad Field Leave a Comment

March 2020 arrives on Sunday and Connecticut’s winter with little snow continues. In his latest podcast, meteorologist Brad Field looks back with co-host Dan Lovallo at some famous February winter snowstorms. He also notes that February 2020 has brought less than an inch of snow to the area. However, March could be a different story. Field points out that the first full weekend of March could pack a wallop.

At the moment, Field states that two computer models are at odds with a storm path predicted to be in the Connecticut vicinity around March 5. One model has the storm packing a winter punch, while another has it just missing the Nutmeg State.

Field and Lovallo also talk about sun angles and the meteorological end to the winter of 2020.

Field: Two snowstorms possible next week

February 7, 2019 By Dan Lovallo 6 Comments

Enjoy the relatively tranquil weather of the last week – including temperatures in the 60s. In his latest podcast, meteorologist Brad Field says indicators seem to be pointing toward two snowstorms within five days.

Feb. 12 and 16

Field tells co-host Dan Lovallo that Feb. 12 and Feb. 16 should be circled on the calendar because both those dates could bring substantial snow fall. Not only that, the various models used by forecasters to predict storms, seem to be in agreement on the type of precipitation that could fall across all of Connecticut.

Super Bowl review

Field and Lovallo also delve into other weather topics in this podcast and look back on their Super Bowl predictions last week.
