After some rain or maybe even some snow on Cape Cod and eastern Connecticut Friday night, March 6 into Saturday morning, our late winter weather will turn springlike around the Nutmeg State and New England, according to meteorologist Brad Field.

In his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo, the two talk about reading weather maps, what the various symbols mean and also review the lack of snowfall for the month of February. As it turns out, the small amount received by the state was not unprecedented, as Field details.

As for the weather map and what it might portend for mid-March, Field gives a rundown, while also discussing the long-range winter forecast and why it did not live up to its hype.
