A cold weekend, Mar. 5-7, will serve as a prelude to spring-like temperatures in Connecticut and the northeast, according to meteorologist Brad Field. Three days the week of Mar. 7 will bring above-normal temperatures Field predicts in his weekly podcast with co-host Dan Lovallo.

How long the mild temperatures will last, however, is another story. Field hints that people should not be putting their winter gear away just yet, if they live in New England.

The arrival of Mar. 1 also marks the end of winter on the meteorological calendar and Field provides the statistics, i.e. snowfall amounts, for the winter of 2020-21.
